Leadership in a Global Economy
Few people have left the impact of Rusine Mitchell Sinclair. Sinclair led the Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines chapter from 2007 until her retirement in January 2013 and spent 25 years as a vice president and officer at IBM Corporation.
During her time at IBM, she made company history when she became the first female senior state executive, representing IBM across the state to elected officials, business leaders, and the community. As the leader of the Girl Scouts she emphasized the importance of making Girl Scouting available to all girls, so that more of these young women could develop into future leaders. Membership in the organization is up more than five percent from five years ago.
A long-time mentor to young professionals at IBM and through the Girl Scouts, Sinclair is passionate about community service. She’s held countless leadership roles on the boards of charitable, business, and civic organizations.
At this event, find out:
- What leadership skills are important at a global company?
- How are these skills different from those required at a U.S.-focused corporation such as the Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines?
- What does it take to get a top global position?
