About the Young Professionals Network
The Chamber’s Young Professionals Network provides events every other month designed to engage young professionals, ages 23 – 39 of member firms to help them become more competitive in the business arena. The program also helps young professionals establish a network of business contacts, and grow both personally and professionally through a variety of programs.
Types of events
- Leaders forums include panel discussions with seasoned professionals from our business community.
- One half-day program that features speaker with other sessions focusing on individual and professional development.
- Forums that help to educate YPN members on key community issues and how they can make an impact.
- Unique networking events specifically developed for the members of the Young Professionals Network.

Question – What does it cost to join YPN?

Question – What is the age range of Young Professional Network members?
Answer – The Young Professionals Network is open to professionals from ages 23 - 39.
Question – When do the events take place?
Answer – Most of the Young Professionals Network events take place in the morning and are time-sensitive so attendees can be in their office or an appointment by mid-morning.
Question – What is the make-up of the Young Professional Network membership?
Answer – Members come from a diverse set of industries and careers.
Question – Does my company have to be a member of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce?
Answer – No, but the fees are lower for employees of member firms. Individual memberships for non-Chamber members are $300.
Question – Can I attend an event to check it out before joining?
Answer – Yes, but some events are open only to Young Professionals Network members. For the events that are open to non-members, there is a fee associated with the program.
Question – Is there a way to connect with other members after an event?
Answer – We encourage anyone who wants to meet with other members after an event to exchange contact information so a meeting can be arranged.
Question – Is my membership transferable?
Answer – Individual memberships remain active for the individual as long as they are employed by the organization that sponsored them to join the Young Professionals Network. If the member leaves the company, the company retains the individual membership.
Question – How long does my membership last?
Answer – Memberships are for one year based upon the anniversary date of joining the Young Professionals Network.
Question – How will I hear about upcoming events?
Answer – Chamber staff will send out event announcements four to six weeks prior to each event to Young Professionals Network members. Additionally, members will receive an e-newsletter four to six times throughout the year.
Question – Are there any opportunities for leadership involvement with the Young Professionals Network?
Answer – Yes, Chamber staff works closely with a volunteer leadership steering committees and task forces to help build and strengthen the Young Professionals Network.
