Inclusivity Statement
The Raleigh Chamber provides inclusive experiences for all event attendees, allowing for an open and respectful exchange of ideas and the freedom of thought and expression. We want every participant to feel welcome, included and safe at Raleigh Chamber events. We will do our best to accommodate event attendees’ specific needs such as accessibility or dietary requirements. We do not promise to solve every issue but will try our best.
Code of Conduct
The Raleigh Chamber provides an event environment that is free of discrimination and harassment. Actions, words, jokes or comments based on an individual’s gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, immigration status, age, experience, religion or lack thereof, physical appearance, body size, disability, veteran status, profession, or any other legally protected characteristic are not tolerated. As an example, sexual harassment, both overt and subtle, is a form of misconduct that is demeaning to another person. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any event, including anything communicated before, during, or after the event, including on social media or any other online outlet. Sexual harassment is strictly prohibited.
An event attendee who experiences an incident of sexual or other harassment should promptly report the matter to any Chamber staff member at the event or to the Chamber’s SVP of Finance/Human Resources after the event. Reports to staff at an event will be escalated to the most senior staff member present. After the event, if the event attendee believes it would be inappropriate to contact the SVP of Finance/Human Resources, the event attendee should immediately contact the General Manager. Event attendees can raise concerns and make reports confidentially and without fear of reprisal.
Any employee or board member who becomes aware of possible discrimination or harassment of any nature must promptly advise the SVP of Finance/Human Resources or the General Manager, who will investigate the matter in a timely and confidential manner. Employees and board members are encouraged to bring these complaints forward without concern of retaliation for complaints of harassment or discrimination brought in good faith. While confidentiality may not always be possible, careful discretion will always be used when determining how to escalate the matter.
Anyone found to be engaging in harassment or discrimination of any form may be expelled from the event without a refund at the discretion of the Raleigh Chamber. An event attendee who engages in harassment or discrimination on an ongoing basis may be sanctioned. Appropriate legal action will be taken against violators if applicable.
Refund Policy
Full refunds using the original payment method are available if the Raleigh Chamber is notified prior to the refund deadline for fee-based events. Where applicable, registrants may choose to apply the payment as a credit towards another event if the request is made before the refund deadline.
If the cancellation is received after the deadline, we will not issue a refund and recommend a substitute registrant. We accept substitutions up to the start time of the event but do not guarantee a printed name tag is the substitution is received after noon the day preceding the event. If the event is held on a Monday or a weekend, your substitution must be received by noon on the preceding Friday to guarantee a printed nametag.
